word. Sacrament. Welcome.

Built on Texas farmland. Rooted in the apostolic faith.

From 1897 to you

1 Peter 2:9 (ESV):

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."

This website will tell you about our church, what it means to call ourselves Lutheran, and what we are doing here at Bethlehem. What it cannot do is show you. For that, we would love to have you visit in person, to come and see for yourself.

At Bethlehem Lutheran Church, there are no tricks and no apologies. We are not ashamed of our Christian identity. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and not ours to edit, and that God seeks a relationship with every person He has made.

This is not a church that tries to look like the world around it. We are the light a dark world needs — and we have no intention of dimming that light so the world feels more comfortable.

ROOTED IN GRACE, GATHERED AROUND WORD AND SACRAMENT

Built by Swedish immigrants, rebuilt after the 1980 tornado, still standing in Lund. The building has changed; the promise has not.

For 129 years, the same Gospel has been preached at this altar. Christ crucified. Christ risen. Christ for you.

No spectacle. No performance. Just the Gospel preached, the sacraments offered, and a congregation that has been doing this together since 1897.
